Sunnyacres Sasol

Biography

It’s all about the convenience. Sunnyacres Sasol aims to bring convenience and opportunities to the Fish Hoek and Kommetjie region, while delivering the goods to the public. When it comes to convenience, Andre van Heerden is always trying to find a new way to deliver this to people in his area of the Western Cape. He owns a caravan park and property development company that built the Sunnyacres Convenience Centre, midway between Fish Hoek & Kommetjie and close to Masi. Now, for added convenience, he has opened the Sunnyacres Sasol Filling Station. “I made the decision to invest in South Africa prior to Nelson Mandela's election, and have always focused on delivering services to the general public, who are my customers. What we provide is convenience and accommodation and many much need job opportunities in an area where unemployment is rife,” he says. Andre says that very soon, his company will also commence construction of a building adjacent to the filling station, which will create additional jobs during the construction phase and more business opportunities on completion. “For me, it’s all about building, creating jobs and developing amenities. With the new filling station, our location and service is superior and we have the full support of the community, so we expect great success as we move forward. Our next step is to get council approval to install a roundabout nearby to enhance safety and improve traffic flow, as it is currently difficult and even dangerous to exit the filling station in a Westerly direction.”
