State visits, high profile sporting events and society galas all require a touch of extra class - whether it be Tiffany chairs or silver and crystal décor – to make them stand out. And while the guests only see the beautiful end-product, someone still has to supply all these exclusive items, such as furniture, crockery, cutlery, glassware and even the linen. This is where Elizabeth Andreasen and her business, Exclusive Hire, fit neatly into the picture.Elizabeth says that her company deals with consumers, corporates, wedding coordinators, event and party planners, hotel venues and government agencies, and is the first hiring company in Cape Town to introduce exclusive up-market tableware into the event industry. This, she says, has led to the company being involved in all three local presidential inaugurations, as well as the state visits of Bill Clinton, Maggie Thatcher and John Major. Exclusive Hire has also catered for both the Presidents Cup at Fancourt and the J&B Met.She believes that her passion for the industry and her love of good food, event coordination and a creative flair, coupled to strong organisational and logistic skills place her in the perfect position to cater to the needs of this end of the market. At the same time, adds Elizabeth, she does not forget her social responsibilities, having worked closely with the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, Life Exchange, Basket of Hope and Table of Unity. So what does she really need in terms of the future of her business? Improved stability for her staff is crucial, moving forward, she says, while continued loyalty from her customers and a positive sales and marketing arm, constantly building relationships will enable the business to stay as a leader, rather than a follower, in the market.
